International Overdose Awareness Day August 31, 2013
Wear Silver
In honor of Cory Monteith and many others who lost their lives from drug overdose, let us come together and wear silver on August 31, to create a universal symbol of awareness of overdose and its effects.
- Wearing silver can signify the loss of someone cherished or demonstrate support to those bearing a burden of grief.
- Wearing silver sends out a message. That message is that the infinite value of each human being nullifies presumption, prejudice and stigma towards people who use drugs.
- Wearing silver celebrates life.
When tweeting on this important day, use International Overdose Awareness Day’s official hash tag, taken from their website:

Tributes
Remembering those who have died – or been injured – because of overdose is an important part of International Overdose Awareness Day. Montourage Unite has created a tribute card in honor of Cory Monteith and International Overdose Awareness Day. This card will be sent to Cory’s friends/relatives/etc on August 31, 2013. If you would like to commemorate Cory Monteith and sign the tribute card, click here.
